Replacing reed valves on 2001 ktm 125 sx?

i need to replace the reed valves on my bike. just looking for advice or any problems i may run into. im not to worried about the reeds as much as removing the carb. anything i should do to insure i dont damage it? and will it stay the way i had it by removing and replacing? thanks for your expertise.
