Please help with first motocross race ?

I need to know what to do on the start I am racing a sx 125 I can dump the clutch and take off just fine but never done it in a race and don't wanna get caught in the middle of the pack and crash in first turn is it worth the risk to go for the holeshot in my first race or should I just hold back and get through the first turn I leaning toward going for the holeshot please help
